Powdery sugared doughnuts
As far as the eye could see
I looked for one that I wanted
But I couldn’t find it, dear me!

There were apples, and jellies oozing
Out of the plump little pastry puffs
Below them was strawberry, lemon too
But that still just wasn’t enough!

There is only one kind I simply must have
It’s all my mind will ever dream
So I asked, and the lady promptly told me
Sorry, we don’t make Bavarian Cream!

My taste buds fell flat on the floor
And my eyes glazed over, too
They didn’t have my favorite treat
I’d have to try something new

No, I wasn’t going to give in
I picked up a doughnut and threw
Which started a major food fight
Leaving everyone covered in goo

The moral of this little story
Is never upset a lady’s desire
Make sure you have what she wants, on hand
Lest you end up in the pastry fryer

She is the Storm ~ #poetry

This was the sky moments before a huge thunderstorm barreled its way through. Still going, too.

It came down in buckets
While wind blew with rage
A sky filled with lightning
The storm, center stage

Her thunder was deafening
Couldn’t hear myself think
Why on Earth would nature
Put up such a stink

Sounds, like a freight train,
Roaring, past the door
The whole house is shaking
I can’t take anymore

Calmer days need take heed
She is mighty, riding the skies
A figure of destructive fury
She wears as an artful guise

The color of sunlight, so bright
She’ll shine her light, on a dare
Deceptive is she, quite willingly
Hiding in the clouds, elsewhere

Rinky Dink always put up a stink

Never liked it when ladies wore mink

He would yell as they passed

They ran at him, en masse

Picked him up, threw him straight in the drink

For Gail Marie

Open the window, ah, the scent of rain

That floats on the wave of a breeze

Watch, as it gently falls to the ground

Nourishing the flowers and trees

Allow it to enter your spirit, breathe

Let it lift you up, with each new drop

Listen carefully, as it sings its song

While nature dances, on Earth’s rooftop

Scared for Good ~ #poetry #dark

In a darkened place, beside a tree
A rusted, old, antiquated jalopy
Sat with no driver, appeared empty
Not really sure how this could be

The headlights were on, beaming
Light through the fog, streaming
In the distance, someone screaming
Please wake me up, I must be dreaming!

This nightmare has gone too far
I can’t get away, from this wicked car
I’m not even sure where we are!
This whole thing is quite bizarre

Wait. What do I mean saying we?
All this time, I thought, it’s only me
I’m not really sure what it is I see
But this forest has become too creepy

Half asleep, I try to make my way back
Through the foggiest mist, in the black
Of night, where the spirits always attack
And I find myself, way off track

Fumbling around, looking for light
Not another soul, within my sight
Thank goodness, that would be a fright
If someone else, came out, in the night

Running blindly, through the wood
Flashbacks of evil, a lost childhood
I’d awaken myself, if I could
Nightmares keep you, scared, for good
