Unsettled skies
Grows dark, the night
No vivid colors
To awaken sight
The moon refuses
To share its light
Darkness fills my eyes

Grasses lose
Their verdant hue
There is no color
Alas, tis true
What moves in shadow?
Is it you?!
Perhaps, this is merely a ruse

I blink to see
But nothing is clear
It’s shrouded in haze
Or is that my fear?
Taking over my mind
Insanity, near
I try, but cannot flee

Sadly, I am losing my spark
Please tell me what to do
So they cannot find me
Though they’ll try to ensue
What is left of my spirit
My friend, I need you!
Lest find myself lost in the dark

What I Seek – #poetry

I step out
Into the darkness
A passing mist
Gently brushes my skin
And dances
Across my cheek.

I dare not wipe it away,
For fear
Its magic could
Quite quickly disappear

So I let it linger,
Color the starkness
Caressing me,
I savor this wicked sin
Like a lover’s kiss,
It is what I seek.

The Power You Have – #poetry – #MayWriting

I close my eyes, a flash of light
Kinetic energy splits the night
Over and over, no end in sight
Why does the silence plague me?

No sounds, all thoughts are muted
For this I am no longer suited
Hoping for signs, yet refuted
Looking for someone to save me

Thrown to the shadows, so bleak
Is it the light, I constantly seek?
Body used, my mind, too weak
Letting go, the will you gave me

Turn toward the darkness, unspoken
My spirit is tired and broken
Captured in a tomb, I soak in
The power you have to enslave me

Can you tell me, wise old sage

What lies beyond the gate?

Will I journey through them?

And tempt the hands of fate

They say you are the only one

Who can tell my future true

I am here to listen closely

To the wisdom, that is you

In the setting sun of evening

With the stars that shine so bright

I’ll wait here, in the darkness

With you, as my guiding light

I’ll stand here and I’ll wonder

If you’ll ever let me see

What it is inside the gate

That’s waiting just for me
