Could this, perchance, be how it rains?

Not within the clouds, but far above

A whispering sound, harmonic strains

Against the coo of the mourning dove

A river wide, flanked by verdant hills

Trees and fronds lay still in the breeze

In the distant, the calls of the whippoorwills

Telling tales, as assuredly, they tease

For they know the secret, hidden so well

When the banks of the river do sigh

Water pours down from a heavenly cell

Tis how rain really falls from the sky

I step out
Into the darkness
A passing mist
Gently brushes my skin
And dances
Across my cheek.

I dare not wipe it away,
For fear
Its magic could
Quite quickly disappear

So I let it linger,
Color the starkness
Caressing me,
I savor this wicked sin
Like a lover’s kiss,
It is what I seek.

Pouting Petals – #poetry – #AprilWriting – #NaPoWriMo

When raindrops fall,
On petals soft,
The flowers pout,
As they do, oft

From the weight
Of fallen tears
Until the sorrow
Disappears

Then nourishes,
All who grieve,
A silent means
To give reprieve

Tis then the sun,
Again, does shine,
To dry the tears,
Of those, who pine

Hard to believe #NaPoWriMo is over, although truth be told, it felt like an eternity.  Congrats to all who participated this year.  Here’s to 2021!! ❤

Leaf becomes shelter

When two get caught in the rain

Nature’s umbrella

These days have been humdrum, with all this rain

Perhaps, I should place a wager, or any kind of bet

That I can counteract Mother Nature, albeit, insane

By absconding, with the sun, without getting wet
