When raindrops fall,
On petals soft,
The flowers pout,
As they do, oft

From the weight
Of fallen tears
Until the sorrow
Disappears

Then nourishes,
All who grieve,
A silent means
To give reprieve

Tis then the sun,
Again, does shine,
To dry the tears,
Of those, who pine

Hard to believe #NaPoWriMo is over, although truth be told, it felt like an eternity.  Congrats to all who participated this year.  Here’s to 2021!! ❤

I looked upon a rose, exquisite, in its own shell

Each petal resided, on its stem, in small space

And in a timely manner, in the garden, did dwell

So many a bloom, scented, ah, such elegant grace

When Petals Fall ~ #poetry of #winter

Petals fall in flakes of white

Winter calls, this frosted night

Whipping winds against the pane

Crystals form a frosty mane

Upon the glass that yields the cold

Yet, I shiver as the day grows old

Is it the day or is it me

Who ages like the barren tree

That shivers in the frosted night

When petals fall in flakes of white

She let her memories escape, yesterday’s dreams

Broken pieces of her life, scattered, tattered

Pressed between the pages, sheltered only

By the pale ivory lace, of a faded parasol

This, her only regret, leaving this treasure

Far behind, knowing, it was the last connection

To a life, she no longer cherished, wilted petals

Pressed between pages, the broken pieces of her life

Memories, you vow to keep forever

Wilting, dying, but leave you, never

Withered roses, from a love so true

Keeping them close to your heart, so blue

Try as you might, you cannot forget

A time in your life, you’ll never regret

Though dried up petals are all that remain

The sweetness of youth, you’ll always retain
