Once upon a never, such moments, lived in strife

She’s always chasing rainbows, lost in another life

Dreams become illusions, fantasy fills her days

Leaving her wanting, and restless, in so many ways

Stuck inside, a mindless state, impatiently, she waits

For emptiness to fill the hours that time cannot abate

Spirits beckon you

Hail the feelings within

Fear not the darkness

For it will echo through you

When the night becomes alive

The medication is beginning to wear thin

Night terrors return, with a frantic fury

Evoking strange visions, conjuring the dark

Encapsulating me, like a jail cell, but the bars!

Claustrophobia has nothing on these feelings

Like solitary confinement, there’s no escape

I’m trapped in my own fear, flailing my arms

Still you sleep, with me screaming on the inside

And you not hearing on the outside, please wake up!

Unlock this oubliette, find the door to set me free

I call your name, no response, the silence deafens

My heart, racing, beating, as it longs to release

Scattered breaths, this taunting inside me

And when it finally does, I am spent, and you wake

Realizing, this is my life, this is how I cope with it

I panic, it attacks, with no cavalry to rescue me

No savior, only me, finally fighting my way out

The easiest way to deal with this, is to not sleep

So I don’t, and I won’t, and I can’t live like this

They never knew, from where it came

Its fire blazed, remained untamed

Wheels that spun on rails of steel

Created madness, endless zeal

The Devil’s locomotive roared

As flames, under and over, soared

Left a trail of smoke and ash

An acrid smell, from evil’s clash

Of brethren lives, taken, in vain

To ride, forever, this demon train

Invisible light, doth never shines
Darkness, from my window, pines

Call to me, I’ll venture far
Away, from every shining star

Caress me with your ebony skies
Blackened, let the spirits rise

Take this earthly pound of flesh
Into the dead of night, refresh

My demons, let them now escape
Into the shadows, we reshape

The visions of the humans, dreams
Replace them all, with mortal screams

Take them, slowly, through the gate
Fear not, mere mortals, do not hate

The pitch that pries you from the light
Take comfort, in the blackest night

For it summons you, with adjuration
To follow, into, eternal damnation
