Darkened room, no light to spare
She likes to sit alone and stare
Across the way, without a care
Her thoughts, indeed, do wander
No curtains hang on window panes
So many broken, let in the rain
And wash her reality down the drain
Reminiscing, moments squandered
Her hands, unsteady, though try she might
With cursed pens, no ink, spill white
As words, reflected, become quite trite
Why paper bleeds, she dare not ponder
Bending down to grasp the red
She finds her mind, uneasily shred
Is she now one, among the dead?
A thought, of which she grows fonder

In the twilight hours, when madness sets in
And the darkness engulfs you, when terror begins
Blurred in reality, a turn of events
Nothing around you makes any sense
Longing for sanity to visit again
Never really knowing where it has been
Torturing dreams that fly through the night
Grasping and grabbing, in torrid delight
Cause you to stumble, turn away from the real
In the hands of the devil, your soul, his steal.

She blends with glass, stained and downtrodden
Roaming the sacred halls, with those, misbegotten
The face so hopeless, sadly, no smile on her lips
She, a ghostly figure, marked, for eternal unbliss
Brick covered walls, will keep her safely inside
Painted on flowers, create a scene, she confides
In her imagination, lets it take flight, in this place
She wants only to stay, as she longs for embrace
Yet, roaming about, she leaves no trace behind
She keeps to herself, in the hopes, she can find
The one thing she misses, in this ungodly world
But, afraid to find it, keeps her heart, tightly furled
Til, alas, she gives up, and gives in, such a shame
This pretty young maiden, they don’t know her name
For none claim to see her, even though she is there
Seems they only feel coldness, surely, tis Liza’s despair

Let the powers that be, draw you ever so near
Ignite the madness, let its path lead you clear
To the place where the words cluster together
Written in rhyme, with ink, pen and a feather
