Talk to me, I can ease your pain
I promise, he won’t hurt you again
No more hands, will strike you down
This cruelty ends, when hope abounds
Protect your heart, from this agony
And finally breathe, let your spirit free
To live your life, unafraid of the dark
Where brutality can no longer leave a mark
Find the place, to let your soul arrive
Somewhere, anywhere, you will survive!
He cannot hurt what he doesn’t own
You, one so beautiful, must not condone
Who you are, praise, what you become
Rid yourself of that which leaves you numb
It’s in you, seek out your true happiness
Forget about him, and all his crappiness
Remember these words, no more need for dread
Never again, shall you fear, where monsters tread
***On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.*** (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence)
