Colleen’s challenge this week is synonyms only. The words are Search and Lost. I chose Chase & Hidden.
Though hidden by evening clouds
Chase away darkness

They disappeared
Like the mist of morn
In the cool of autumn
Time collapsed, elapsed
Why is it I missed it?
Was there something,
Something I needed to do?
Forgotten, buried deep
In the folds of my thoughts
Blanked out by the night
As I drift, awake
Falling, into the abyss
Perhaps, perchance
To find what it was
That lingered within
Then suddenly left
Never to return…

I know not where it is, I should turn
As thoughts inside, begin to churn
An acid, meant to truly burn
A helpless moment, of which I yearn
*
To cast away, the thoughtless words
From a hateful voice, it’s so absurd
To know that I’m not really heard
My patience, buried, now interred
*
Into hopelessness, I need to fight
To end this horrid, dreadful plight
That I endure, both day and night
For where there seems, no end in sight

Oh, hi there, I wasn’t expecting you
Please excuse me, if you don’t mind
I made my over here, for what, no clue
But, it’s something I hope I can find
Lately, I’m lost, don’t know what to do
I wonder if you’d help me, in kind
Find the thing, blocked from my view
Especially, if I try looking behind
I think I’ve gotten myself into a stew
If I don’t find it soon, I’ll be in a bind
What’s that you say, just buy it new?
Great idea, ah, at last, I can unwind…
…Now, what was it I was looking for?
