Talk to me, I can ease your pain

I promise, he won’t hurt you again

No more hands, will strike you down

This cruelty ends, when hope abounds

Protect your heart, from this agony

And finally breathe, let your spirit free

To live your life, unafraid of the dark

Where brutality can no longer leave a mark

Find the place, to let your soul arrive

Somewhere, anywhere, you will survive!

He cannot hurt what he doesn’t own

You, one so beautiful, must not condone

Who you are, praise, what you become

Rid yourself of that which leaves you numb

It’s in you, seek out your true happiness

Forget about him, and all his crappiness

Remember these words, no more need for dread

Never again, shall you fear, where monsters tread

***On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.*** (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence)

She breathed in, floral scented air,
Walked in silence, never shared;

Born of beauty, elegance, grace,
Branded by flaws, upon her face.

Chastised, by all the wrong doers,
She, simply, could not maneuver;

Around the evil words they spilled,
Heartache pierced her, left her chilled.

Whispered voices, in the night,
Horrid rumors, became her plight;

Hidden behind doors, she grew old, alone,
Cast away, twas the first pebble, thrown.

Which grew to a boulder, to her dismay,
Beauty, no longer in this place, could stay;

She’d steal away, under the midnight sun,
Be gone, before morning broke, begun.

Never again, allowing them to misconstrue,
She left no trace, of the life she once knew.

Dripping, soggy, and wet, from nature’s sneeze

Leaves, soaked in dew, a brisk morning breeze.

Glistening light, from soft rays of the sun

Another day of beauty, has nearly begun

Sun rises ever quickly, against a muted sky

Brings about warmth, and with her, I sigh

Each morning, when I awaken, with eyes wide

I thank the Lord, for another day, diversified.

Real Magic – #poetry #fairies

They dance, under the cover of night,

Disguised as snowflakes, tinged with light,

Filling the darkness, glistening bright,

Behold in the distance, a beautiful sight

Flittering about, whispers unheard,

Each to the other, without saying a word,

Not even a rustle, nor song, from a bird,

Yet, something inside you, is easily stirred.

Watch them carefully, for soon they’ll go,

This vision, you thought, was only snow,

No trace will they leave, but, this you’ll know,

Real, are the fairies, and the magic they bestow.

It’s that time of year again.  On Saturday’s, during the months of June, July and August, I only do one writing/poetic post, and the other is my photography.  I call it my “Backyard Buddies” series because that’s where all these beauties visit me.  I hope you enjoy!
