Hello Friends!

Oh how I’ve missed you all.  This crazy thing called life, well, it can get in the way sometimes.  But October is coming and that’s my favorite month.  I get to go all ghoulish and horrid, right up to the last day!  I can’t wait.  The brain is already churning out the macabre and there’s more where that came from!  See you soon!

This knight

Summoned, chosen

By the light of the moon

Knows chivalry does not falter

Nor die

***

Instead

His mighty stance

Shows determination

Dauntless, he and his loyal steed

Trust faith

Not many travel
To the top of these stairs
Most never make it,
Though she doesn’t care.

Never reaches out,
To offer her hand
They teeter and topple,
And there she’ll stand.

Smirk on her face,
Fire in her eyes
This Tower of Terror,
She’ll make you despise.

Every breath you’ve taken,
To reach the very top
Every muscle that’s aching,
But you just can’t stop.

She captures with a spell,
To fight you don’t dare
She’s invited you, dearie,
Into Autumn’s Lair.

Ghoulish creature in full moon light

Eerily stalking you, in ebony night

No longer hidden, the Hunter’s Moon glows

Lighting the way, with terror, he shows

A hideous face, with a sickle in hand

His quest for you, most carefully planned

Watching and waiting, he stares in the dark

Empty eyes gazing, he’s leaving his mark

Quivering soul, he’s gotten into your head

Wearing you down, no escape from the dead

Perched up high, upon a branch

In the forest, dark and scary

The owl waits for his next prey

Though his mistress, quite contrary

She sits inside, in black of night

By the window, where she eyes

Creatures scurrying about the grass

And much to her surprise

One comes closer, just enough

So the door, she opens wide

Watches as it makes its way

Unsuspecting, now inside

The cauldron boils and bubbles

As the witch begins to chortle

“Trick or treat, my tasty one

It’s time for my nightly mortal”
