siren-1191032_960_720Her calling brings longing
To souls lost at sea
Songs of the Siren
She sings them for thee

For men and their ships
Who have sailed to the deep
She callously draws them
Into eternal sleep

With songs from the bottom
Of a watery grave
They’re captured by beauty
Forever enslaved

And though they all know
These tales of the brine
Still they go searching
Time after time….

When Words Fade ~ #poetry

What happens when the words just fade?

When thoughts no longer are displayed

Upon the empty parchment, where

They used to dance, without a care

Poured so sweetly from my pen

I need to find those words, again

The ones that bared my heart and soul

Emotions, I could not control

Perhaps, they’ve found another place

And I am just another face

Perchance, they’ll once again return

To quell this everlasting yearn

“It’ll be easy, you’re such a natural!”

Then why was it I stood, in front of a crowd of people I had known for so long and I froze. Yep, frozen solid. No eye contact, not even a blink. I was locked in total paranoia, not able to unbolt the latch that held me rigid on the stage. I felt numb, like my body had been taken over by a tub full of gelatin, only I wasn’t jiggling. I was a mere block of ice. Trying to control the fear, I slowly began to breathe, feeling myself thawing, breaking through the facade, and finally, speaking. But when I looked up, the room was nothing but a vapor. Apparently, while inhaling and exhaling, I had blown the cold out of my body, into a heated room and created a steam bath….I would never speak again.

Fractals of snowflakes

Enfetter a naked branch

In winter‘s white lace
