She loves to play with billowy blobs

Quite an artist, though no one will say

What she captures, in painted globs

Is devious, in a most mischievous way

Allowing you to see, only part of her

She can hide the most hideous things

Like the one thing she does, most concur

Is setting traps that make the men sing

She mesmerizes, with a flash of green

Throws colors about, a devil-may-care

Women say, she is simply obscene

But not to her face, they wouldn’t dare

Laughing, as she lures them farther away

She is a siren, from the sea, her realm

She need do nothing to make them stray

When her colors fly about, they overwhelm

A Touch of Perfect – #poetry #SeptemberWriting

Hollywood called her Marilyn Monroe
Though her name was Norma Jeane

But that would never befit a star
This siren, of the silver screen

Sensuality made her famous
They would melt, with just a wink

Abused by those around her
Found her on the edge, the brink

Pills would ease the torture
That went on inside her head

Until the day they found her
A body, lifeless, across the bed

Her light had now been dimmed
After years of sheer neglect

But Marilyn would, forever, remain
A shining star, with a touch of perfect

siren-1191032_960_720Her calling brings longing
To souls lost at sea
Songs of the Siren
She sings them for thee

For men and their ships
Who have sailed to the deep
She callously draws them
Into eternal sleep

With songs from the bottom
Of a watery grave
They’re captured by beauty
Forever enslaved

And though they all know
These tales of the brine
Still they go searching
Time after time….
