Petals fall in flakes of white

Winter calls, this frosted night

Whipping winds against the pane

Crystals form a frosty mane

Upon the glass that yields the cold

Yet, I shiver as the day grows old

Is it the day or is it me

Who ages like the barren tree

That shivers in the frosted night

When petals fall in flakes of white

Winter’s Foray

Gray inhales the light of day

Blocking out the warming rays

Clouds envelop skies of blue

Tears that fall like morning dew

Caressing gently, the browning lawn

Once an emerald against the dawn

Begins to wither and fade away

Bowing down to winter’s foray

Unleash your inner fantasy

Unlock the hidden door

Open up imagination

Find what you look for

Mysterious illusions

Play a game of hide and seek

Only you know what to look for

A risk not for the meek

Fear can conquer with a breath

If you let it come inside

Chase away the evil thoughts

No longer will they hide

Or dwell within the confines

Of your imaginary haze

Fantasy unlocks the doors

In a magical, mystical daze
