Whilst I sit upon this empty bench

My thoughts return to you

I can’t imagine why you left

I don’t know what to do

I can wile away the time of day

Pretend you’re here with me

Oh, how my heart has turned to gray

What made us disagree?

Alas, twas me, who chased you away

Each night, we spent, together

I tried to say goodbye, my love

But you were already gone, forever

I dwell inside this tiny bubble

It keeps me safe and out of trouble

Where only trees and clouds appear

I have nothing, on this Earth, to fear

I stay inside, and watch the day

The sun, once shining, falls away

Then nighttide finds its way inside

My thoughts now travel, far and wide

This is where I find release

My soul surrounded, by unending peace

Author’s Note: This was a bubble my mom blew and I leaned down to capture it, unaware it had my reflection in it, along with the sky, clouds and trees. And as such, this poem was born 🙂

Hello Friends,

You may have noticed (or not ), that I have been remiss in replying to your comments, as well as commenting on your posts. I do apologize, but it is with good reason. If you read my poem from today, “Overwhelmed“, you’ll get a feel from where I’m coming from. I apologize, and am slowly catching up with everyone, a little at a time. I am also battling some health issues, which I do not like to dwell on, but have been more of a nuisance than not, and as such, I am away from my keyboard more than I’d like to be. Please be patient with me. I love reading your posts, it will just take me a bit longer.

A side note ~ if you have a twitter account, please make sure your twitter ID is filled in on the Sharing page (settings -> sharing). I also use this as a way of telling you I loved the piece I read, especially when I don’t have time to comment!!
