Perhaps the night
Brings darkness
To cover up
The tears
Ones shed
By the clouds
Though
Never obvious
I ponder about
Where exactly
They’ve come from
Who is shedding them
And why
Are there angels
Mourning the loss
Of a loved one
Bearing the sorrow
Unburdening us
Our hearts
A cleansing
For the soul
Now in eternal rest
Or
Is it something
Beyond the simplicity

My footsteps, impressions, a story in rhyme

Water below me, frozen in time

Mirrored reflections, covered in snow

Over the bridge, back home I shall go

Where winter has left its mark on my soul

Dusted, with memories, from my evening stroll

The winds blow heavy, against the pane

Outside, the sunlight diminishes the rain

I feel the tugging, as it grabs at my heart

The longing for adventure is about to start

With anticipation, I watch the leaves spin

My heart, seeking freedom, beats hard from within

Arms opened wide, I let the winds take me

Over mountains and seas, let it never forsake me

Just pick me up, there’s no need to cajole

I’ll ride with the spirits, I’ll follow my soul

A vision appears in the dark of night

Rather gnome like or perhaps ogre

Simply floating about, blocking

What lies ahead of me, still

I ignore, best I can

This apparition

It plays games

Abhorrent

Loathsome

Thing

It

Tries me

Go away

You quite bore me

And I know better

I remain here, watching

It dissipates in the air

Swirling about, creative mist

A cloud of smoke no longer inhaled

But exhaled, letting it escape my soul

I walk the path, far into the woods, and suddenly lose my way. Ahead, I sense an energy, one I haven’t felt all day. I see it rising, high above me, covered in moss from the land, and realize I am no longer lost, for this stone shows the path, well planned.

It tells me to journey onward, no need to fear this place; for here is where the spirits dance, how I long to see their face. I marvel at this majestic sight, on a marble slab, it stands; and with its mighty energy, I bow, and clasp my hands.

Allowing those around me, to channel their way through; and thank the kindly forest, for keeping them, here, so true. I best be on my way, I have other places to see; however long it takes me, I have found my energy.

For in this forest, serenity, as the spirits take control; and I shall return, again, one day, for I am one, now, with its soul.
