An elevator ride proved promising
We made our way up, to the top

Got off on the seventy-fourth floor
Cause that’s where the elevator stopped

Pretty certain this wasn’t where I needed to be
One more floor, guess I’ll use the stairs

As soon as I can find just where they are
Out of service, I wasn’t aware

That stairs had to have some maintenance
Every now and again, to make sure

No one fell through to the lower floors
Tis surely too much to endure

Still, I needed to find the seventy-fifth
It had to be above me, I gathered

Leaning against the wall, for a rest
I fell through, what I sensed, was a hazard

But lo and behold, there in front of me
A secret passage that led to my floor

Exiting into the hallway, I sighed
I’d have to search for the invisible door

The Fragrant Fog ~ #poetry #AugustWriting

A mist, rolling off the meadow

Carries a fragrance meant to please

Each droplet of water caresses

Every inch of the forest trees

Blanketing the russet leaves

Wrapping them in sweet embrace

The fog, though, soon will vanish

And the waking sun will grace

The colors, and beauty of nature

Once hidden in a veil of mist

Now drenched in dew, delighted

Aroused, by morning’s first kiss

Now that July’s challenges are through

I have to find something else to do

I suppose, with this time

I could write you a rhyme

Or perhaps, a limerick or two

**********************************************

A HUGE Thank You to all who stuck with me while I took you on the crazy adventures of Agent N. Owl and her crew, and to all who grabbed bits and pieces of the story!  Remember, you can find it all here: On the Trail of a Mastermind

The end result? 13,195 words (phew) And ~M is still on the loose!!

But seriously…

I could not have done this without Michelle!!  Her writing prompts were the catalysts to this entire story.  I can’t thank her enough for doing these writing prompts every month, no matter how busy her schedule may be!

Bring on August!  I can’t wait!

The Darkness is My Hope ~ #poetry

Dedicated to all who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.  I feel your pain…

My body shivers, at times, it quakes

Hour upon hour, never ending

I think, this must be a grave mistake

And life plays its game, quite offending

I try to be calm, breath in and out

But nothing is working for me

All I really want to do is to shout

Allowing the darkness to break free

But the darkness is my only hope

It comforts me, right to my core

Helping me find the right way to cope

When I’m wondering, what it’s all for

The bewitching hour has finally come

When I am no longer feeling numb

The time I envision, the perfect scene

Not ordinary visions, but words, fill my screen

Imagery exposed, with the lightest touch

These are moments, I treasure so much

A time, when I can fall, into the night

That caresses my soul, and holds me tight

The moonlit skies, the twinkle of stars

This is the time that takes me so far

Gathering thoughts, I feed off the words

A creature of poetry, longing to be heard
