So silly were they, thinking he was a fool

How they talked about him, behind his back

What they didn’t know, was he was no tool

Deep down inside, they really didn’t know Jack

Like a deck of fifty two
dealt haphazardly across
a felt table, you anted
your chips and caused
me to fold under your
skilled hand, shuffling
the Queen of Hearts
against the King of Spades
you fooled me into
believing I had the upper hand
when all I had was the Joker.
