I could feel it slowly slipping

Like sand through my fingers

Sifting, into minute grains

Blowing, with the ocean breeze

I could feel the rhythmic sway

As the scent of the air lingers

And the shadows begin to wane

Washing over me, and I’m aware

How the night slipped into day

And the full moon rising,

Merely slipped away

Adrift at Sea

I found myself, adrift, at sea

No life boat, floating under me

Only liquid swells, of ocean tides

I breathe it in, and feel alive

Wiggle my toes, down below

Shiver, in the heat’s shadow

While sun beats down, upon my hair

I knew right then, I didn’t care

I best forget, the hardened land

I’ve found my peace, in the ocean sand

Let’s sail off into the sunset

Soaking in the blinding light

Of our golden orb, dipping down

Beneath the waters, where we could

Simply float away, on a wave of dreams

Yes, let’s close our eyes now, make it come true

Live this fantasy, as if it is our little secret

Hidden, in the deep blue sea

The Ocean and Me ~ #poetry

I stand on the shoreline, the ocean, so free

I feel the breeze flowing, sensually

The rush of the waves, the smell of the air

I dream of the beach, and wish I was there

Where cooling water, refreshes my skin

Washing away, all of yesterday’s sins

Baptizing my being, cleansing my soul

Letting the tides, take total control

I want to stay sleeping, in this sweet fantasy

The sand, and the breeze, the water, and me
