The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

With each key he played, the monster, alive
Unaware was he, as he continued his song
Though he felt a presence, he could not decide
What it was he had been feeling, all along

Through the trees, moonbeams danced
It was though they could hear every note
The stars came down, wondering, perchance
If his playing was what kept them afloat

His life, in a book, his fantasies, played
As time passed by, the pages yellowed
He took in stride, what his mind displayed
All those nightmares, had truly mellowed

So he played, and he played, each note his own
Not caring what was happening around him
He knew from the start, this king on his throne
That his dreams would always surround him

Where to Begin ~ #poetry

Nothing was working, frustration set in

I should start over, but where to begin?

Jumbled up messes, stuck in my head

Maybe it’s time I take a break, but instead

I continue to trudge, through this mess

No cause for alarm, it’s probably stress

Step away from the keyboard, back again

To many words are stuck tight from within

Hands on the keys, glazed eyes in a dream

I’m pretty sure, you just heard me scream!

Leave the office, go find something to eat

Perhaps I can fuel the verses with sweets

No, that will never work, they’re diabetic

This is what happens when I am frenetic

Try to calm down, take it one at a time

But the words, continue to play, a mime

They move about, but never do they speak

It’s more like they’re playing hide and seek

Okay, that’s enough, for now, they can win

I should start over, but where to begin?

Mysteries Revealed ~ #poetry #dreams

Tis but a dream that wakes my mind

And feeds my soul with visions kind

That whirls the colors in my head

Breathes new life, to them, instead

But oh the mysteries it does reveal

When in my heart, these feelings, real

Draw me away from reality’s door

To find me, forever, wanting more

And the more I find, as I journey, yon

Reminds me to venture, on and on

In the midnight sky,
On a bridge that goes nowhere
A light cast its singular glow
And I followed its radiant glare
There, at the end of the platform
A tunnel did appear
In a heart shaped pattern
Against the darkness, ever clear
No matter how hard I tried
I couldn’t see beyond
I called out, into the blue abyss
But no one did respond
As I got closer to the end
Of the narrow wooden planks
I realized what was calling me
Was simply just a prank
Into the ebony sky, I fell
Nobody heard my screams
I am forever lost, inside
This horrid dream of dreams

#TBT ~ Until the Night is Born – #poetry

Darkness falls across my face
I’m weary from the day
Yet, this is the time that I embrace
Where my mind begins to stray

To fantasies and wonderlands
To visions quite obscure
To a place, my mind expands
With magical allure

Where dreams become realities
Where life’s a nursery rhyme
Where there is no normality
And I can pass the time

Until the light must shine and splay
Become a brand new morn
And I must tuck my dreams away
Until the night, again, is born
