The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  On your own blog, you may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you, then create a pingback to the original post..  More info can be found in the link below.

Spirit

Remains faceless

In a world so Godless

Praying for man’s absolution

Shattered

Secret rendezvous

On a rooftop high above

Twas such a grim scene

When the leading man came home

And found Tom hanging around

The delicate pieces of nature
Completing the puzzle of life
Bits torn to create anew
From bland to exquisite
An indistinct worm
Sleeps, awakens
Grace in flight
Flutters
Free

Old and frail she climbs

Each step harder than the next

She is determined

The top seems so far away

But, oh the reward that waits

                ~~~
Touching the heavens
The fruit of her labor shines
A glorious sight
She smiles when she reaches it
Content, she withers away
I’ll count to ten
I know not when
I’ll find the ones now hiding
They’ve run from me
Far from this tree
I hear their giggles subsiding
I wonder if they’ll notice
I haven’t moved an inch
Cause I can see, just where they are
This game is such a cinch!
I think I will stay right here
Use the tree to rest my bones
Dunk my toes into the lake
Across the water, skip some stones
That definitely sounds better to me
Than to run around in the sun
Sorry, gang, you’re on your own
I’ve found my own way of fun
