Tea Time Talk – #17 ~ #TeaTimeTalk

Good morning, friends! I hope you’ve had a great last week!  Grab your tea, iced or hot, make yourselves comfy and let’s talk!   πŸ™‚

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I’ve had a somewhat busy week, which is good, It keeps my mind occupied.  Monday was a holiday.  We just relaxed and hung around the house.  See how busy I was!  πŸ˜‰

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: on Wednesday, hubby injured his back at work.  He had to go to Urgent Care and was prescribed some meds to help ease the pain.  He was doing okay until yesterday.  The meds don’t seem to be working anymore.  He sees the doctor again tomorrow.  But, he’s still going to work, where he lifts anywhere from 5 to 150+ lbs, at any given moment.  I think he’s nuts, but that’s another story.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: my own health is still causing me misery.  I saw my neurologist on Wednesday.  She upped some of my meds (Yippie….not) and gave me the same instructions.  No lifting, reaching, unnecessary bending, etc, and so on.  Might as well leave me drooling in the corner.  Sorry, don’t mean to sound sour, but this is so frustrating!!!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: as you can see in my bitmoji above, my hair is shorter.  Yep, I cut it!  And for the first time, I think in ever, hubby told me the length looked really good on me!  Imagine that.  I wanted my curls back, and the only way to get them was to take off some of the length.  I feel so much better!!  πŸ™‚

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: yesterday, we spent the day at Laurelwood Arboretum.  I took so many pictures of all the beautiful flowers, bumble bees, butterflies, and of course, a chipmunk! Speaking of photos…

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: my daughter, Alyssa and I have a blog together called “Photos by We”  We’d love it if you’d give it a like.  We’ll be posting photos of our adventures, coming up soon.  Lys is a dog walker, so if you like fluffy friends, I’m sure there will be plenty to see.  It’s a fairly new blog, and we’ll be adding to it as soon as we can get all the photos ready, but here’s a sneak peek of what I will be uploading a bit later today.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you:  Yay!!  I got a review on my new book! If you’re a writer, you know how good this feels when one of your readers takes the time out of their busy day, to let people know about your book.  Writing is hard work.  It definitely made my day.  If you missed the post, you can find it HERE. I’m still smiling!   πŸ™‚   πŸ™‚   πŸ™‚

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: for awhile now, I’ve been combining word prompts from different bloggers, into an evening post, but I decided to change it up a bit.  From the month of June through Labor Day, using only one of the four prompts I follow, I will be doing Haiku.  I hope you enjoy them.

As for the week ahead:

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: we have been making plans for the summer, and some of those plans need attention this week.  I can’t wait to tell you about them!

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s time to be on my way.  Church is calling, then my son is coming over this afternoon.  I can’t wait to see him!  Have a blessed week ahead, my friends!   ❀

Night had Fallen Forever – #100words – #FlashFiction – #JuneWriting

The sun set in a fiery red against the spire of the local church. As the light reflected off the top, the sky seemed almost embarrassed by the grandeur of the tower. The sun cowered between the beams that held the spire, lifting it into the sky, allowing it to illuminate the waters down below. The town around it was silent, awaiting the resounding echoes of the bells, signaling the end of another day. But tonight, even the tower was silent. The bells no longer rang, they no longer sang. And the town folk knew, night had fallen forever more.

Authors note:Β  Michelle’s prompts for June are perfect for flash fiction writing.Β  I have chosen to do just that, each in 100 words, for the next 30 days. I hope you enjoy.Β  πŸ™‚
