Clover and earth ~ #poetry #DecemberWriting

I found her lying ‘tween the clover

Then tiptoed, not to make a sound

Though fast asleep, I could feel her

Heartbeat, pulsing, off the ground

Her essence left a heady fragrance

Lifted from the dampened earth

And I couldn’t help but wonder why

She chose this place to give it worth

So hidden, deep, within these woods

Where no one else could find her

A tired Mother Earth, took rest

As the beauty of land, entwined her

I wake to frosted windows, shimmering in the sun

I used to love the arctic air, as a child, I’d play & run

Winter’s breath is upon me, how I shiver in the cold

Seems I can no longer handle it, I must be getting old

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

With each key he played, the monster, alive
Unaware was he, as he continued his song
Though he felt a presence, he could not decide
What it was he had been feeling, all along

Through the trees, moonbeams danced
It was though they could hear every note
The stars came down, wondering, perchance
If his playing was what kept them afloat

His life, in a book, his fantasies, played
As time passed by, the pages yellowed
He took in stride, what his mind displayed
All those nightmares, had truly mellowed

So he played, and he played, each note his own
Not caring what was happening around him
He knew from the start, this king on his throne
That his dreams would always surround him

Her Hero – #NovemberWriting #poetry

She waited for him
By their favorite table
Snow covered ground
Frosty air, set the scene

Looked quite debonair
For his sweetheart, Mable
A bow tie around his neck
Nothing less for his queen

On his tray was a cupcake
With a cherry on top
Said he loved her dress
That she looked really keen

To her, he was her hero
And she was the cream of the crop
Their romance, lasted only a season
Just like Old Man Winter, had foreseen

Those who claim to be unaware, are simply negligent

While they go about their day, living with indifference

They turn a blind eye to the falling, becoming pestilent

We need to be the contrast to them, their deliverance
