She was always cranky, when she was tired

Always felt worthless, and so uninspired

No one would listen, to her painful plight

Not even the sunset, would kiss her goodnight

So she plotted anew, gave him just one more chance

He ignored her again, this was not happenstance

The time had now come, with malicious desire

To offer herself, to the one with the fire

The flames grew taller, surrounded her being

And darkness engulfed her, with sparks, ever freeing

She welcomed the demons, she’d kept tucked away

She knew she would need them, on this, judgment day

Let’s sail off into the sunset

Soaking in the blinding light

Of our golden orb, dipping down

Beneath the waters, where we could

Simply float away, on a wave of dreams

Yes, let’s close our eyes now, make it come true

Live this fantasy, as if it is our little secret

Hidden, in the deep blue sea

My dearest Sun

Let me set with thee

Amidst sherbet colored skies

And mourning, wistful clouds

I will wait

While darkness descends

Chasing away your brilliance

And as your light begins to fade

So shall I
