Somewhere near the center

In a town much like your own

Lurking in the shadows, is

The place someone called home

Graffiti paints the outside

Where once the stone stood proud

Covered over by nature’s roar

Standing alone, now, in a crowd

Of wooden barriers hiding

Branches and trees converge

Should you find an entrance

I do hope you’ll soon emerge

For town folk tell the story

Of a spirit, there’s no doubt

Who lures you to explore within

But never lets you out

In Limbo ~ 50 Word Story

I died last night. Much like the wilted petals of an old bouquet of roses, I crumbled. My spirit lingered, then disappeared into the mist, and scattered my soul. Floating in limbo, I reached out, seeking those I remembered, and found myself lost, with those I had long since forgotten.

Do not look for me
Hidden in a fort
Beneath icy snow
Still falling carelessly above

Between the daffodils and daisies
Amidst the cool grasses
Of a wakening meadow

Along the dunes on the beach
Betwixt the waves
Crashing on the shore

Encompassed by leaves
Strewn across the ground
In no particular way

In the obvious places
You presume to find
A wandering spirit
I will not be there

Instead look within and find
A life otherwise uncommon
With its own rhythm
A heart’s journey

It is there you may find
Who you are seeking
It is there you will
Find me lost

I want to float on the wisp of a cloud

Listen to the wind as it roars out loud

Feel the heat, from the rising sun

Inhale, the presence of day begun

Lie awake, in a field of flowers

Sit and consider nothing, for hours

Relax, and let the silence grow

Exhale, and let my spirit flow

The taste for freedom

Comes from deep within your soul

Lets your spirit soar!
