She is a child of purest nature

A beauty, bestowed to the Earth

Among fragrant, multicolored flowers

Green grass, and butterflies adrift in the air

They dance for her, a ballet of splendor

Fluttering wings, their acknowledgement

They have captured and beguiled

Her applause, a request for an encore

And she smiles, with sheer delight

Out-dazzling the morning’s sun

There was nothing ugly about her

Feathers glistening, meant to stun

A tuft of white, hidden beneath her

Nature’s Beauty, cannot be undone

Gliding, gracefully, in waters green

She shines, with the morning sun

Ebony gleams, in the light of day

As a swan, she is second to none

I lurk in the shadows

That block out the sun

Long for the hours

When daylight is done

Dwell in the darkness

Tis where I’m content

Hidden, unnoticed

Is how my life’s spent

I am one with the creatures

Who stir in the night

Awaiting the sunset

To silence the light

A tragic event that brought him down
His house, left in total shambles

Disaster had struck, while he was away
He was out for his nightly amble

Clouds of smoke, darkened the skies
Ash and soot, covered his clothing

The fires had finally begun to die
All he felt was his own self-loathing

He never thought this would happen

Though he seemed not to care

This house, filled with hatred and doom

Watching as embers, sparked and flared
From the window, of his very own room

Wondering if he was meant to be
Inside, when the fires ignited

Stepping back, from the heat of the flames
How could he have been so shortsighted?

It’s the trip of a lifetime, he told me

One I’d surely never forget

I should just pack a bag and be ready

We’ll be flying on his new Lear jet

You can imagine how excited I was

To think, he asked me to fly with him

Although I knew, not where to

I went anyway, all on a whim

We flew around, for hours and hours

I had no idea where we were

In fact, I didn’t know where he was

Funny, how this didn’t occur

I fell for it, hook, line and sinker

Such a cad, he turned out to be

Now I’m jet lagged and feeling jilted

He never boarded the plane, you see
