I was honored when Sue asked me to contribute my stories to her “Elusive Realities” series. So many of us have had encounters with spirits, and most shrug it off as coincidence…but it’s not. I hope you enjoy my stories. Thank you, Sue, for allowing me to share this with your readers ❤

It happened in the living room of an old boyfriend’s home.  We were sitting on the sofa discussing odds and ends, when I mentioned that I sometimes could feel my Nana (maternal grandmother) nearby.  He looked at me rather oddly, asking where she lived.  I replied “Heaven”.  We chatted a bit more, he not saying anything remotely close to the spiritual world, and then it happened.  The scent of perfume floated by us.  He asked me if it was me, as I had been fishing in my purse for something.  I just smiled, and waited.  Across the room, his black cat sat on the arm of a rocking chair.  The rocker began moving, the cat hissed and ran from the room.  Nana had made her presence known, even to a non-believer.

Another time, my daughter and I were upstairs, each in our own rooms.  She was napping.  On…

Two friends went out for a ride
Always hanging, by each other’s side
It was the righteous thing to do
Besides, it was nothing new
Both of them took it in stride

Narf finally met his bride to be
Sitting under a magnolia tree
Let’s go out on a date
Won’t get you home late
I promise, he said, wait and see

“Cowabunga!” Narf cried, with joy
A slap on the back, “Atta boy!”
Came from his dear friend Snarf
Who really wanted to barf
This friendship, a girl did destroy

Seems Snarf was just being screwed
By a so called pal, who was rude
Cared not for his friend
And, so this was the end
Of the adventures of two gnarly dudes

Days Grow Dim ~ #NaPoWriMo #darkpoetry

I can feel the soothing drops of rain

Seeping through the pores of my skin

Washing away the hurt and pain

Cleansing my soul, from deep within

Reaching inside, I drown in my sorrow

Letting it dwell, in a pool of my blood

Wondering, will I see tomorrow?

I open my heart, to let in the flood

That swiftly carries my lifeless limbs

Down a river that has no name

Tis then I realize, my days grow dim

Once again, I’m the one who’s to blame

Under radiant light, once again, reborn

A whispering breeze across the vibrant sky

She awakens with the gentle call of morn.

Life on Earth heaves a gentle sigh

For she is the mountain that reigns above

And the lands found down below

Delicate beauty, who bestows with love

As she watches her mighty Earth grow

Frigid waters enveloped her

Lips, like ice, turned blue

Sinking deeper, drowning

Her final breath, she drew

Eyes slightly open, watching

As she descended, rapidly

Ending all she ever knew

Dissolving slowly, in the sea

She took her life, tempestuous

Like a turbulent hurricane

A tortured soul, free at last

She would never again feel pain
