Mama said it was taken care of
“Child, there’s nothing to be scared of”
I close my eyes, and to my surprise
There is something I’m made aware of

The place where silence had a voice

Called to mind, but not by choice

The one she knew, who she was

Now no clue, and just because

Her life had left her, far behind

Harsh words, unsaid, so unkind

Failed her, in her darkest hours

Waited, as her heart grew sour

No noise was heard, as she spoke

No words uttered, nor evoked

The silence, had taken her last chance

No doubt, this was not happenstance

For she knew who caused this to occur

The one they called “The Saboteur”

Silent, every word, spewed madness

Her heart, overflowed, with sadness

No way to break him, this grim reaper

She knew he’d find a way, to keep her

In his shattered state, he couldn’t decompress

Someone tried to kill him which added more distress

Air came, in shorter spurts, a gasp, here and there

Shards of glass, sliced his skin, he was in despair

When he found his wits, he peered through the hole

Wondered how the piercing bullet, didn’t take his soul

What he saw made him jump, he tumbled to the floor

He had escaped so many times, he couldn’t anymore

The reaper had come calling, waited for him to depart

Not letting him get away again, death took his evil heart

Said the wicked old witch, to the fly on the wall
Your maggots are restless, won’t stop moving at all
I need them, to stir up, a batch of my brew
Tell them to calm down, for a moment or two

Said the fly on the wall, to the wicked old witch
You can do it yourself, with a lick and a stitch
If they don’t work out, then it best be forgotten
After all, these monsters, were all misbegotten

Still the fly had his price, it was all or nothing
Didn’t matter to him that his brood was abuzzin’
But the witch wanted quiet, to conjure her drink
With them making noise, she could barely think!

Trying to soothe over the old lady’s nerves
The maggots calmed down, landed, reserved
The witch was now happy, she shouted with glee
Finally! This is exactly how I need them to be

The witch got her purse, but the fly wanted double
Not able to agree, only caused them more trouble
With that, the witch, well, she’d had enough
And the fly on the wall… he’s now merely a scuff

Beyond the city, in the blackest night
Lives the grim reaper, sickle in hand
Keeper of the corpses, rumors say
Bones line gardens, over which he stands

One by one, they’re brought to his castle
Taken too soon, by the latest plague
Piled on each other, no room for more
Why he enjoys this, is clearly quite vague

Count on him, by the light of the moon
You needn’t make an appointment
It’s first come, first served, anytime of day
Just remember, he’ll leave you disjointed
