Fly from me, sweet dragon, seek

Heed the words, I now, must speak

Find the kingdom, cross the land

Bring to me, the guarded strand

Kept close to she, the princess fair

You must catch her, unaware

Cast this spell, of sleep, upon her

O’er the knights, in forest yonder

Who think I am an ignorant fool

But I shall have their precious jewel

Complete this task, I set to thee

Bring back that which belongs to me

The piece that causes much vexation

For I never utter fruitless incantations

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

In my hands I hold the key, a golden wand to set me free

Swirl, the winds about me, fly, watch as magic awakens, by

Sounds from my voice, subdued, I must set the perfect mood

Allow the spirits to commune, I can feel them, coming soon

I cannot rush this, I must wait, else, this magic seals my fate

Swirl, the winds about me, fly, watch as magic awakens, nigh

No longer in my hands, the key, my spirit flies, at last, I’m free

I have traveled far
Ice beneath my feet
The full moon
My guiding star
Shining ever sweet
My staff aglow
As I step closer
To this place
Where
Inside my heart
I hold an empty space
The castle lights are bright
Each a single flame
Perhaps, lit
For my approach
From whence I came
I’ve still, a father path
To follow, to the door
Where I can embrace
My loved one
Forevermore
The snowy plains
And mounts
Have been good to me
Allowing this
Half-hearted body
To take me, safely
One final length
To my journey
Soon I will be there
To seal the hole
Long ago left
By my departed lady fair

Sunlight sparkles through the trees

Fairy dust flies, with mysteries

Released to the wind by her hand

Gisela lets them go, unplanned

Wanting to keep them for herself

She knew better, this little elf

Saying goodbye, she blew a kiss

With her one last final wish

May they return to her, some day

And bring the light, again, her way

Friday Fantasy ~ Where Eternity Rests – #poetry #spirits

Lost spirits, dancing, in midair flight,
No shadows cast, beneath the light

Of a street lamp, in the dewy mist,
Lingering softly, like a sweetened kiss

Stuck in limbo, they forage the Earth
Longing, praying, for their own rebirth

Though nothing here, is worth the tally,
Too many have gathered, in the alley

Harrowing screams, and chilling groans
Covered in dirt, these skeletal bones

They hope for more, but circumstances
Just don’t allow them, second chances

So hover they must, no place to land
Their presence, no longer in demand

Forced to move on, to find their place
Where eternity rests, without a trace
