Wasted
The hours in a day
Doing nothing
Wallowing
In empty air
And blank spaces
The mind
Reeling
In no specific direction
Slamming
Into a brick wall
But no damage
Except to the soul
Damaged
Torn apart
Ripped
From its very essence
Mangled, as if
It had been ravaged
By a predator
But that predator
Only lives within me
The walls
I have built myself
Keep me
Safely guarded, away
From the vicious
And yet
I want to explode
To let it out
Still
No one will hear
No one will care
No one
Even notices
How lost
Inside myself
I am
No one

All that chewy goodness

So tart and sweet and yummy

Doesn’t do me any good

It just expands my tummy

Not to mention what it does

To my sugar count, oh my

Still I shovel it in my mouth

Don’t know the reason why

Perhaps it’s the fruity flavor

They must know my weaknesses

A marketing ploy, if ever I’ve seen

Crafted by real jellied geniuses

I want to capture your flame

A single match, is all I require

Two bodies, entwined, no shame

Each one filling, the other’s desire

Heat, igniting the human form

Come closer, belong only, to me

A fury, the sensation, so warm

How perfect, two beings can be

I want to capture your flame

Where together, we will conspire

To forever be one, in the same

Two hearts set ablaze, one fire
