I wrote this after listening to Don McLean’s song, “Vincent”.  If you know the song, perhaps you’ll read the words as if the music is playing….

Darkness holds the night
Stars are hidden from my sight
The moon above, it shines no light
I look around but nothing fills my eyes

Hello Friends!

Oh how I’ve missed you all.  This crazy thing called life, well, it can get in the way sometimes.  But October is coming and that’s my favorite month.  I get to go all ghoulish and horrid, right up to the last day!  I can’t wait.  The brain is already churning out the macabre and there’s more where that came from!  See you soon!

A Year Ago – #poetry of the #brokenhearted

This is how
The year has been
Cluttered spaces,
Filled with din

Unconnected,
Lines that fly
Out of my head,
Although I try

To make sense
Of what will be
To understand
This broken me

Who misses you
With every day
It’s been a year ago,
Today

How can that be,
It went so fast
Day after day,
The moments pass

I feel I’m sinking,
In quicksand
And you’re not here
To grab my hand

And pull me up,
Breathe in new life
Instead, I’m only
Filled with strife

Beaten down,
Depression rages
Part of death,
of grief,
in stages…

Rest in Peace, Mommy.  I miss you so very much… 06/10/2020

Under An Old Bridge – #poetry #NaPoWriMo

Shout out to Annette Rochelle Aben for planting the seed. Here is the sequel to An Old Bridge.

Darkness now surrounds you
You can feel your body falling

There’s nothing to hang on to
Arms and legs, about, are sprawling

Your eyes cannot adjust, no light
You’re blinded, tumbling fast

Praying this is just a dream
And you’ll wake up, at last

You yell for help, hoping
Someone can hear your call

But all you hear are echoes
Of your voice, against the wall

It seems your fear was justified
Never should have taken the leap

The weight of all your troubles
Sent you to your eternal sleep

For when you fall into the abyss
You’ll, forever, slumber deep…
