I wrote this after listening to Don McLean’s song, “Vincent”. If you know the song, perhaps you’ll read the words as if the music is playing….
Darkness holds the night
Stars are hidden from my sight
The moon above, it shines no light
I look around but nothing fills my eyes
Shadows lost in flight
Giving up their will to fight
Everything is wrong tonight
I bow my head, and whisper my goodbyes
Now I think I know
Why the One has chosen me
There’s no longer any mystery
My spirit, finally, set free
I fly away
No looking back
I fade into the black…

I’ve been listening to “Vincent” over and over and over, and I’ve fallen in love with the lyrics and the tune! I’m thinking I just may have to follow your lead and write something against it too! So many lines in this song that are so great!! Thanks so much for again pointing me to a great means of inspiration! xoxoxo 😊😘💕🌹
