Trust, when things aren’t going your way

And life seems to be getting a little tough

Instead of allowing your tempers to flare

Seek better reasons, to get over the rough!

She is the storm, throughout the night

As thunder roars, and skies turn white

Blissfully wreaks havoc, among the calm

Yes, this is her fire, her soothing balm

Scatters herself, with ice, snow and rain

Eyes of fury, a heart, filled with disdain

No chance to stop this deadly spree

She thrives on it, tis her malady

And just when you think she, at last, subsides

She returns, with an anger, more intensified

Author’s note:  Dedicated to the last three Nor’easter’s with number four arriving tomorrow!!  Someone, please, make them stop!

Fires flame the midnight sky

Lightning crashes, thunders by

Anger keeps her, at this pace

Feeds her hunger, in this place

Ravenous, the power exceeds

A turbulence, no one does need

Explosive, in her deadly task

Voracious, she unveils her mask

Fire flows from out her hands

Burns the ground, on which she stands

And she feels no heat, as the lava flows

For the night is, forever, in her throes

February Writing Prompt: Volatile Voracity – Day 28/28 Another month has flown by!! Looking forward to Michelle’s challenges for March! 🙂

She dyes her hair, paints her face

Dresses to the nines, awaits his embrace

Lipstick, crimson, as red as blood

Skin so soft, like a flower’s bud

Perfumed wrists, her baubles gleam

She prays this night is not a dream

His ravishing smile, her heart skips a beat

She who stands here, alone, on the street

She wonders aloud, “Will he postpone?”

Minutes, hours, no text on her phone

Realizing she’s being used, like a tool

She hangs her head down, feels like a fool

Gets back in her car, as fast as she can

Never again, will she wait, for a man

Echoing whispers that shatter the night

Watching and waiting, she stands in the light

His voice in the dark, it grows ever stronger

She wonders if she can take this much longer

She strains to listen, hears the sound of her name

From the voice of another, laying the blame

Disbelief comes, as he is walking away

Disavowing that he ever wandered astray

Denying he knows her, his heart is for another

Yet, she is the one he has called his true lover

His lies, so bold, and so easily spoken

His secret, once she, now tattered and broken
