Conversation lags
As tension fills the air
Words I wish to say aloud,
But never will I dare.

Turn the wrath of devil’s breath,
Into a burning pyre
Anger lashes back at me,
And I begin to tire.

Wonder what it is I seek,
Outside my bolted door
Is there life beyond the pale?
Or is it nothing more

Than washed out wishes
And fallen dreams
A silence filled
With curdling screams?

Try again, to fight the pain,
Encumbering at best
A plight I’d never give myself
Is given at my behest.

Strange that I would choose this path,
Heavy thorns do block my way
What happened in the aftermath?
Was it something I did say?

S adistic, toying with emotions

A nger settles in, for the night

D isbelief is not far behind

N eedless, self-deprecation in sight

E asing its way, borne of the dark

S unset, selfishly, brings about tears, I am

S ecretly drowning, in my own plight

The storm raged
thunderous explosions
like the Fourth of July
without its colors
rattled windows
dislocated, limbs fell
against the glass
or did they knock
asking me, to let them in
shelter from the battle
I don’t know, shades drawn
lights out, I could not see
seated in the darkness
only my shadow reflected
on the wall, as lightning
danced across the skies
illuminated, then black again
ice pellets, echoed,
the noise, like machine guns,
ravaging the night, a hunter
claimed his prey
then unexpected silence
the only sound heard
was the peaceful rain,
gently falling.

a truce…………

A fiery apple, she quietly lures

Outside the town, nobody did notice

To her advantage, she uses a spell

This gypsy girl, mysterious poetess

Chanting rhymes and incantations

He falls for her, much to his chagrin

She knows exactly how to charm

But the fairy tale would never begin

Anger holds her tighter than love

He is doomed, in the aftermath

Never to see home, again, he is done

Easily bitten, by the apples of wrath

They say that variety is the spice of life

But I’d rather live a more humble means

I don’t need drama, nor excessive rife

Just simpler days, in my ole blue jeans
