As He Pleases ~ #RomanticTuesday (sort of) #poetry

The candlelight flickers

Shadows dance along

Moving, like gentle breezes

Breathing grows quicker

As passion grows strong

She is his, to do as he pleases

The night grows black

And shadows emerge

The wind picks up in the trees

What was that whack?!

Twas the sound of a scourge

As he tossed her over his knees

Torment ~ #poetry #Halloween

The steeple bells ring, this Halloween night

Blackest of ravens, begin their flight

Seeking out all, who no longer breathe

Flying about, they impatiently seethe

They must bring one back, the bell man said

Or they would, surely, be the next ones dead

Squawking to each other, they spied down below

The perfect specimen, on which they’d bestow

The terror of those which swoop down on one

Taunting and teasing, all this for fun

Until tired and spent, a human’s lament

Is carried away, in the claws of torment

Single fallen leaf

Blown about, riding the wind

Landing among friends

Heavenly Child ~ #poetry

Elfin angel, sleeps aloft, at night

Cradling against the lunar light

Wonder what she’s dreaming of

Wrapped in stars, from high above

Could she be thinking of what’s below?

Or how far down she needs to go

To find the Earth, on which she’ll play

Perhaps it’s best, up here, to stay

Yes, she is purely a heavenly child

For which the moon has now beguiled

Fantastical Beasts ~ #OctoberWriting #Halloween #poetry

All Hallows eve, the night closes in

Fantastical beasts return on a whim

Waiting and watching, the chill, we suspected

But shadows grow longer, and quite unexpected

The moon shines a glow, but it’s still not enough

To keep them from coming, though we try to rebuff

Witches and warlocks fly through the air

Skeletons rattle about without care

The living dead walk aimlessly in the dark

Ghosts and ghouls gather round in the park

All watching the clock, for the midnight hour

Impatiently waiting for what they will devour
