Misconstrued ~ #poetry

She dreamed, her visions, vivid, true

Lost in moments, oft misconstrued

Painting, she welcomed her own world

The images danced, as colors swirled

She knew not what she would dream next

Which always left her quite perplexed

No, it didn’t matter, she minded herself

Wistfully, they gathered dust on the shelf

Her visions, of days, now gone awry

She still continued, though not knowing why

It was quite unexpected, made her unsteady

Weak in the knees, though she knew, she was ready

The icy cold water, was nothing to fear

The wave took her under, freedom was near

She didn’t fight it, it was what she awaited

Back to the sea, where her life was created

No longer wishing to be human, unkind

She knew now, to never leave the ocean behind

Powdered Blue ~ #poetry #MarchWriting

Eyes, like the heavens, powdered blue

Sadness, crept its way into

Lips, as pale as palest pink

I watched, but ne’er did she blink

Her beauty, was so well concealed

Hidden, yet, it was revealed

Behind the mask, a haunted being

Wide eyed, she remained unseeing

The Arch (Songs of the Chosen) – #writephoto #poetry

Quietly, creeping down through the hall
Silently listening, for those who would call

Knowing, exactly, what the arch kept hidden
This was a place, out of bounds, forbidden

Trembling, hoping she wouldn’t be caught
Leaving this life, no longer distraught

Tiptoeing, body against the wall
She listened, to hear their rapturous call

The winds that whirled, between the columns
Left a feeling of peace, serene and solemn

This place she came to, seeking freedom
To baptize herself, be rid of these demons

Awaiting the ones, who had nearly awakened?
She knew it was time, she would not be forsaken

She could speak the covenant, a spell on her lips
People would stare, frightened, transfixed

Admonished, for uttering such foolish words
Town folk, gasping, when they overheard

Never understanding why they would say
A young girl shouldn’t ever speak this way

Perhaps this is why, she wasn’t allowed
To speak of this space, to never avow

That, which has drawn her here, so oft
The songs of the chosen, in the air, aloft
