Captivating ~ #poetry

Look inside this tiger’s mind

As if you weren’t a human being

Captivating, his eyes watch all

Think about what he’s seeing

Gazing over the jungle lands

Is it his next meal he’s seeking?

Or is he content to loll around

Undisturbed, but ever peeking

A predator by nature, he waits

Until the time is right to strike

Til then he’s happy just to gaze

In a state that’s quite dreamlike

Jelly Jars ~ #poetry #MarchWriting

Oh my, all these jars of jelly
Too many flavors to choose

Sticky sweetness, in my belly
I better share some with my muse

She gets a bit emotional
When her sugar levels dip

Perhaps a nice PB and J
Would ease the fellowship

I’ll let her pick which one she wants
It’s better this way, I think

Or else she’ll get a bit flustered
And put up raucous stink

It’s not easy keeping her happy
Sometimes she drives me mad

So I’ll just shut her up, with sweets
And that, will make me glad!

Meander ~ #freeverse

Much like a winding forest path

I allow my mind to meander

To get lost in the quietude

And silently breathe in nature’s bliss

Daylight Savings ~ #poetry

Too easily, it slips on by
Just like that, it’s gone

Thinking I could get some sleep
Then suddenly, it’s dawn

It seems I’ve lost an hour
Just like that, it disappeared

One minute is was two AM
The next, it felt so weird

Sixty minutes passed me by
And all I did was blink

In my opinion, daylight savings
Does nothing more than stink!

Into the Night ~ #poetry #MarchWriting

Waves churned and water crashed

A rowboat, on the ocean, thrashed

Skies were calmer, to the east

But to the west, there hailed a beast

Clouds of black had filled the sky

No chance for those aboard to try

To make it to land, safely ashore

Seems the boat, could take no more

Winds attacked, from every angle

In the storm, the timbers mangled

Caught, upon the choppy seas

The ocean tossed it, as it pleased

All that remained, was a beacon of light

That shined, ever brightly, into the night
