It was only a matter of time
And everyone watching knew

No matter how hard he tried
Sam was always dropping Lou

It became a daily occurrence
People drove for miles to see

If Lou would finally realize
Sam was doing it purposely

He got a kick out of watching
A warped sense of humor, the nut

Ladies walking by, would scowl
At poor Lou, sitting there, on his butt

Always vowing to seek revenge
Sam knew it would never happen

Foibles and follies, it’s who they were
Left the folks laughin’ and clappin’

Sweet Dreams, Child ~ #NaPoWriMo #poetry

Sweet dreams, child, as you snuggle close

Let the moon above, guide your visions

Forget about the day, gone by now

There’s no need to make any decisions

Drift away, and find a fantasy, created

Just for you, in your own hidden place

Get lost among the twinkling stars

Watch the midnight sun, in outer space

Sweet dreams, my child, for now you rest

Serenely sleep, as the night slips by

Cocooned next to me, against my chest

As I drift off, too, all is right, by and by

A brave knight, once found himself, in a pickle

Seems the monarchy, had thought him a jinx

And the fair princess, always rather fickle

Now preferred the dragon, instead of Sir Binks

Unreplenished Urges – #poetry – #MarchWriting

There will come a time, when

I venture outside these walls

This place I call my sanctuary

Where only I can hide away

And no one knows why

I am feeling low, except me

The urge is always there

But remains depleted

And I am empty in this shell

Locked away, in a cocoon

Like a caterpillar, trying

To break free, to fly away

Like a butterfly, in the breeze

Perhaps one day, I will go

Journey out into the unknown

Spread my wings, take flight

But for now, I will remain

Tucked away, safely

In my own little world

March Writing Prompts – Unreplenished urges – Day 31/31 – Wow, another month in the books. This one flew by much too quickly! On to April!!
