She never was the lucky one, most times things went awry; on the 27th day of April, she finally figured out why! All this time she’d been slacking, nary a care to be found; til suddenly it all came together, and life, as she knew it, would abound. Plenty of things she’d be chasing, never able to catch them at all; realizing, finally, today, she’d been merely dropping the ball!

Oblivious, in her new found happiness, continuing down the road of success; no one would doubt her, ever again, even though her life, still a mess. She hid that quite well, you might say, even her closest didn’t understand; that deep in her heart, she was crying, this wasn’t what she had planned.

Wanting to live like the other girls, arm in arm with the men of their dreams; she, never finding just the right one, discovered life, isn’t always as it seems.

HAPPY TELL A STORY DAY!

Darkness in the distance plays, my thoughts, they start to mingle; is it calm or trepidation that makes my senses tingle? Chiseled rocks, I climb upon, careful to plant my feet; so to peer beyond the opening, then, wondering what I’ll meet.

Is it just an empty cave? Or does something live within? Do I dare to challenge this? I hesitate, as I begin. Quietly making my way inside, sneaking about, like a tiny mouse, I realize I am not alone, it is me inside this house.

Silently moving within this space, I hear her voice, to me, she is calling; “No need to be afraid, my dear”, as my legs give, but I’m not falling. I stumble, to try to find the earth, the solid ground, underneath, is no longer; ever slowly, I feel myself rising above, my spirit, growing much stronger.

I am not afraid, no fear inside, for I know no harm will come to me; I have found the entrance, to my life, where my soul can, finally, be set free.

Meet Dorinda Duclos

Dorinda is a poetess, one who thrives in the darkness, and seeks out the shadows in the light. She writes, because it is her escape from reality, a chance to release the passion she holds in her being.

This collaboration is now archived in the ‘Stanford University Archive’ of the ‘100,000 Poets for Change’ collection!

A mighty one, was Sir Timothy, who stood proudly, protecting his family. Guarding the gates to the palace, where, others dare not enter, if he was standing there. A one man army, no soldiers did he lead, no man could outdo him, nor his trusty steed. His honor, to stand fast, against all invaders, tis why the country dubbed him, their Great Crusader.

Rumor has it, he often returns on the eve, of the battle that took him, caused his loved ones to grieve.  Though they dare not look upon him, this noble man of King Gawain, for sunken eyes and bony cheeks, are all that remain.  Sir Timothy, they claim, will visit, from time to time, made known by the church bell’s melancholic chime.

Against a hazy backdrop, they kissed until they couldn’t breathe. He knew she had to go, but he wouldn’t let her leave. Under the blossoming cherry tree, he professed his love, hoping, she would not flee. Still she moved away from him, afraid she would stay forever, which was his idea, all along, indeed, it was rather clever.

The sun was setting quietly, behind them, where they stood, not taking any chances, he kissed her, again, and kissed her good. She kissed him back quiet gingerly, then with a passion, sure; staying in his loving arms, was truly his allure.
