She never was the lucky one, most times things went awry; on the 27th day of April, she finally figured out why! All this time she’d been slacking, nary a care to be found; til suddenly it all came together, and life, as she knew it, would abound. Plenty of things she’d be chasing, never able to catch them at all; realizing, finally, today, she’d been merely dropping the ball!

Oblivious, in her new found happiness, continuing down the road of success; no one would doubt her, ever again, even though her life, still a mess. She hid that quite well, you might say, even her closest didn’t understand; that deep in her heart, she was crying, this wasn’t what she had planned.

Wanting to live like the other girls, arm in arm with the men of their dreams; she, never finding just the right one, discovered life, isn’t always as it seems.

HAPPY TELL A STORY DAY!

Tiny Voices Unheard – #poetry of #lost #children – #childabuse

This poem is based loosely on true facts.  It has been eating at me for some time now, and so I’ve put it into words. Child abuse is not just physical,, it is emotional.  We must lift our children UP, never tear them down, lest they become the bully.

He cries, all he wants is his trike
She yells, so coarsely, berating
He wonders, “Is this what life is like?”
She sneers at him, a look, so deprecating

“Daddy! Push me on the swing”
She sighs, he’s much too busy
Playing around with gardening things
Disturbed, he hollers, in a tizzy

Tiny minds, developing,
Inside a hardened home
Why bother having children,
If they mess you up?
Surely, they will stray,
Find comfort when they roam
Eventually becoming parents
Neither worthy of a pup

Silence looms, across the neighborhood
Except the noise, coming from that house
Chastising, loudly, they shout for no good
Instead of being happy, all they do is grouse

Still, two tiny beings, afraid to say a word
Sit and stare, each dreading what’s to come
For even if they speak, they aren’t even heard
To their parent’s evil, eventually, they’ll succumb

Who took autumn? ~ #poetry

Dear sweet autumn
Where have you gone?
Someone came
And took you away
Though leaves are turning
But, my heart’s still yearning
Winter’s come
And I think it’s to stay

Frost on the ground
In the early morn
Green grass is long gone
Turned, shades of brown
And the sky is so gray
On this cool October day
I need to smile, turn
My frown upside down

November is coming
How quickly, it seems
Counting days
Til the colors have left
Pictures taken, a few
It’s what I needed to do
To keep my heart
From feeling bereft

And I’ll count the days, in so many ways
Until her beauty returns, once again
I’ll wait by the door, of this I am sure
Pray my autumn, this time, will remain

She hides behind the fence posts

Where no one sees her there

Cloaked by wooden slats and nails

She stays hidden from the glare

Of hatred thrown about her

Lives taken, for mere display

She no longer wants to live

In a land that prays this way

Someday she’ll find the courage

To walk away from all this hate

But for now, she stays behind the fence

For now, she has to wait
