Restless, as my mind wanders

And my body cannot find the way

Like the leaf so desperately clinging

To that one last moment

Until the wind, relentless in its fury

Captures me, in a single gust

Cascading, swirling, slowly

Teasing the veins of my limbs

With the chill of October

Jumbled

Cluttered with words
That don’t make sense
No space in my head to expand
Jumbled art, falling apart
Trying hard to understand

The letters clump
One on one
It’s getting harder to decipher
Slithering around , hissing profound
About to strike like a poisonous viper

Then the clearing begins
As I sort it all out
Finding time to slowly subdue it
Quietly thinking, words finally shrinking
Til someone decides to add to it

It is time that I
wrap myself in
silken threads
and slumber, not
for eternity, but
for a moment, until
I am no longer
an ugly creature
but one of beauty and grace
And I can spread my wings
and fly

Friday Fantasy ~ Demonic Delight

Amidst the fog and full moon light

A house glows red with demonic delight

Terror reigns from deep within

Fills the air with a piercing din

Spirits roam the darkened grounds

Shrilling, shrieking, sounds abound

Horror shakes the shrouded land

That hides this fortress, once so grand

Haunting, against the black of night

Demons feast on earthly fright
