Make a wish upon a star
See the moon glow bright
Little one who watches
Out the window of the night

Whisk your dreams away
On the gentle evening breeze
Skyward clouds paint the skies
And mingle with the trees

Quietly she sits in thought
Dear sweet child of ebony light
Watches out the window
Enchanted by heavenly delight

Multi-tasking

#poetry, brew, broom, Halloween, Multi-tasking, Night Owl Poetry, poems, potion, witch

My broom is ready to take its flight

I’ve stirred this brew for half the night

Read the book in such a hurry

All the words becoming blurry

Did I get the potion right?

Will it cause a terrible fright?

One more time, read it through

Before I make my way to you

Another stir before I go

Now it’s time to start the show

OH! The plans I have in store

When I knock upon your door

The Pumpkin Patch

Grandpa fell asleep

With a nest upon his head

Sister’s in the teacup

And I should be in bed

Ropes of garlic to the sky

Grandma reaches way up high

The height can surely make you swoon

Yet, my big brother hangs the moon

And far below the twinkling stars

There, nestled on the ground

Lies a tiny pumpkin patch

Where happiness abounds

#poetry, beauiful day, dawn, God, morning, Night Owl Poetry, poems, sun, sunday, thankful

The warmth of the sun
The sweet morning air
A day to be lazy
With nary a care

We rise from our beds
We stretch and we yawn
And find ourselves lost
In a glorious dawn

And thank the good Lord
For allowing us to see
Another beautiful Sunday
Made for you and for me

#poetry, calm, caress, In The Arms of a Lover, lovers, Night Owl Poetry, poems, safety, touch

A warm touch, a soft caress
stroking, calming
like a sedative

In the arms of a lover
there are no walls, no
barriers to break

Only the fortitude
of knowing you are
safely nestled in tranquility
