Autumnal colors,
Russet and red,
Draped in a cape,
That covers her head.

She tucks inside,
The golden locks of hair,
Her mama told her,
To never bare.

A mist forms around her, ever so,
There, in the forest, unafraid, though.

They envelop her,
In a magical dance,
She smiles, happily,
This is not happenstance.

Knowing it is they,
Who come to call,
Every November,
Near the end of fall.

And this child awaits, ever patiently, their arrival,
For she counts on them, for her very survival…

Colleen’s poetry challenge for this week is synonyms only!  Her two words are Fall and Give.  Check out Colleen’s blog to find which forms of poetry are acceptable for this challenge.  Have fun!

Written as a Shadorma, my synonyms are Plunge and Entrust.

I must learn

When to take the plunge

To conquer

Obstacles

Yet, entrust myself wholly

To heed the lesson

The Spirit of Autumn – #poetry

As day breaks, her spirit breathes

Patiently awaiting, the falling leaves

Orange, yellow, and russet red

Each tree will shed its leafy head

Decorate the ground, in perfect hue

Colors, delightful, in a vision true

Landscapes change, an added breeze

Stripping the forest’s brilliant trees

Until at last, they stand naked, bare

The spirit of autumn, now lays there

In the dead of night,
When moonlight shines
My lantern captures,
That which is mine.

Awakening graveyard,
The spirits do beckon
Calling out to me,
At least, what I reckon;

Is their immortal way
Of conveying their wishes
And I am never,
At all, suspicious.

For this is the time
Of the year I bloom
Though others may see
A most certain gloom

Autumnal equinox
My treasure, my Fall
The time in my life,
When the spirits enthrall

Blanketed beauty

Who rises above the cold

Shall defeat snowfall
