On the other side of the looking glass

With her lantern shining bright

She reflects her image sweetly

This fairy, and her light

Her eyes asparkle, mesmerizing

She has you in her hold

Her beauty more beguiling than

The mirror made of gold

She’ll taunt you to come closer

Her smile is her disguise

Once she’s got you hypnotized

Her reflection is your demise

Memories, still buried deep
Haunt you in your restless sleep

Tucked away inside your heart
This we knew right from the start

Our lives would never be as one
Betrothed to yet another’s son

I couldn’t hide, he saw my face
Into the dungeon, the only place

He knew to leave me, there to die
Then tell his tales, lie after lie

Of how I broke his heart in two
Because my love was never true

Now buried in the castle keep
I lie here in eternal sleep

And call to you, my only love
Can you hear me from above?

Will you come to stay with me?
Yes! Fulfill our destiny!

Where thorns replace the reddest rose
There, we shall lie, in sweet repose

Mist lies quietly over starless skies
Swaddling the land in a cool damp air
Droplets filled with passing rain
Enveloped in fog that roams without care

Darkness ahead through shrouded passage
Shadows engulfing the light
Ethereal movements that send you astray
Across clouds enraptured by night

A brilliant sun awakens the dawn
And dissipates the lingering mist
Scattered softly on blades of grass
The quintessence of morning’s kiss

She waits, among the evening mist

In the forest, a familiar place

Where she can sit in quiet thought

Longing for his sweet embrace

Each passing night grows longer

Still, she waits as time goes by

Silently, she’ll contemplate

Never knowing the reason why

Each time, he says ‘tomorrow’

He’ll return, a recurrent theme

And she’ll come back here, once again

Beguiled, by her fanciful dream

Turn it up much louder

Let the power take control

The rhythm of your heartbeat

The essence of your soul

Dancing to the music

Getting lost inside each note

Wait!

How did the singer really know

Just what it was you wrote?
