The skies open up, above me

Their sorrows, releasing the pain

A cloudburst, quite uncontrollably

Soon mingles, with the pouring rain

Verdant reflections, awaken

Cascades of color

Thoughts..because of the terrorism attacks taking place around the world…Be safe.

The warmth was no more

Much like the black char of

An empty fireplace, barren

Of fire, a flame diminished

The heat, no longer, a spark

Doused by many, rekindled

By none, who knew not why

Nor how, to stoke the flames

Repair the resilience, before

Humanity, is but a pile of ashes

Through faraway lands and distant shores

We sailed with the waters, like ravaged whores

Crossing the ocean, to find what was ours

Clawing and scratching, tearing at scars

Opening wounds, those we best not forget

These were the ones, filled with little regret

They showed just who we were all meant to be

Our struggles were real, as we returned to the sea

For these bells remain silent

In the springtime breeze
