For Mom, my guardian angel…

Subtle little clues
You like to leave behind
To let me know you’re with me
Making it easier to find

Boxes filled with memories
Clothes, once hung upon the door
Are now laying in the hallway
Where you’ve put them, on the floor

You really needn’t show me
I can feel your presence near
Reminding me to be careful
Of the many treasures here

I’ve wrapped them up in paper
Placed them gently, as not to break
Packed up everything I could
Oh, how my heart does ache

Yet, in very quiet moments,
When I am in your home,
I can hear you whisper
“You’ll never be alone”

Hard to believe you’re gone three months already….miss you more every day.  Love you, Mom ❤ …til we see each other again.

Passing the hours, thinking
How could this be?
So much left to do, yet
You’re not here with me.

Life is a funny thing, really
It catches you off guard
But you find, you can’t laugh
Why is it, life’s so hard?

Days all muddled together
Feels like I’m stuck in a hole
Shoveling dirt out of my brain
Is beginning to take its toll

It’s not too long til I’m 60
Though I find no reason to celebrate
The days just aren’t the same
Since you left, on that June date

But you would tell me otherwise
Life is worth living, you’d say
Try as I might, the sorrow is real
And tomorrow, just another day

We are merely sheep

Languishing in the teardrops

Of a weeping Earth

Tears flow like water

Pouring over rapids

Rough and raging

Briefly slowing until

They hit the rocks again

Determined to wear down

All that lies beneath

Like a cascading waterfall

Tumbling down into despair

They disappear….

Merely a drop

In the sea of sorrow

As if the Clouds were never – #freeverse #poetry

There’s a stillness, a calm, surrounding night

In the air, you can smell, the scent of raindrops

Not yet formed, lingering quietly nearby

Little by little, the skies open, into silent tears

Shedding the pain, of a million crying spirits

Mourning, for the ones, who cannot mourn

Embracing the sorrow, as if it was their own

Gently washing away, the sins of the Earth

Silently cleansing each eternal soul

Then vanishing….as if the clouds were never
