The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”. You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you. More info can be found in the link below.
Galaxies full of wondrous delight
Tis a small child’s endless dream
To spin with celestial floating orbs
In such a beautiful astral scene
Even his shadow’s along for the fun
Still, he’s far away from the skies
With colors igniting his imagination
There’s a spark, a gleam, in his eyes
So fascinated, by the universe above
He stops, for a moment, to stare
Wondering what it is that he’ll need
To explore these worlds, up there

Reminds me of the times I’d get lost up in the sky as a kid. Thank you!

You’re welcome. PS, get lost in the sky, again, it’s a marvelous place to be 🙂

Really captures a child’s imagination. Love these lines:
Wondering what it is that he’ll need
To explore these worlds, up there

Fantastic poem, you wrote it from the perspective of the little child, I could feel it all the way through. This one line made me smile, “Even his shadow’s along for the fun”.
Love to you Dorinda.

I think I am really a child in an older body. I always like to look at things from a younger perspective. Thank you, my friend ❤ Much love to you 🙂

Keeping the child within you for life, this is a true blessing Dorinda.

Thank you! I choose to never grow up! That adulting thing is hard!!

It is hard to be an adult, I love the child within me too, some people don’t get it, but for me it must continue to live.

Amen to that. I think I’d be very lost without it.

Beautiful poem! I’m not sure if the first line’s structuring is intentional or not, but I love the whimsical, off-kilter nature of its structuring as it fits the type of poem you have presented.
