They sneak around, always in cahoots

Slimy and scaly, those nightmarish newts

Down in the water or up in the trees

They wander about, to do as they please

Little dinosaurs, who should be extinct

Oh so far from it, as they slither and slink

Across the ground, to where you are standing

If you ignore them, they become quite demanding

As they wait for you, the innocent bystander

To blink, then they turn you, into a salamander

She disguised herself well, to the other race

Once a human child, now elegance and grace

The fairies had found her, alone, oh so tragic

Quick as could be, they performed their magic

Gathered around her, they danced with glee

Watched as she welcomed them, happily

No longer alone, this child and her plight

Her life had been changed, by many a sprite

Now they flutter about her, protected is she

A beautiful swan, tis what I wish to be

An Open Door ~ #dark #poetry

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

In keeping with the dark theme that always accompanies Halloween, I have written this poem.

An open door, in which to climb

Barred by metal fences, twined

I can only peer into the dark

And hope the sun creates a spark

To light the inner chamber, where

So many have be locked, in there

Let me free them, from this cell

Unlock these wicked Gates of Hell

Where no man, has been freed

Thrown aside, for sins, and greed

But I know better, the Devil’s game

Sadistic, he, never taking blame

I’ve called him out, I’ve come to fight

To save these humans from their plight.

But who will come, to rescue me

And save me from this…insanity

I can’t believe it! Five years have flown by and my little blog has an anniversary today.  It seemed only yesterday when I posted my first article, back when I wasn’t posting my poetry (That’s officially in January).

Of course, I wouldn’t be here without the support and friendship from so many in the WordPress community, family and friends.  I never dreamed I would make it this far, and yet, 13 books later, with #14 in my hands awaiting editing, I am still here.  I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our dear friend, Paul Lenzi, who left us far too soon.  He helped me in so many ways.  I would never be able to thank him enough.

And so, off to year six, and Lord only knows what it will bring!  Many thanks to all of you, for allowing me to share my thoughts (sometimes crazy ones) and cheering me on. Because of you, I am able to continue my dream.  See ya round the blogosphere!   ❤

Look inside the cauldron
We’ve something here for you
Stir and stir, we must you see
To make this witch’s brew

Don’t listen to the owl
His hoot is nothing new
Come to us, my little sweet
We’ll show you what to do

Trust in us, just take a sip
You mustn’t misconstrue
This potion is your destiny
Our witch’s craft for you
