In the pages of this book, is where it begins

When evening falls, tis there, I fit in

Watching the stars that gently glisten

In the dark of night, I shall sit and listen

As the moon recites with much detail

How the sun and the planets all prevail

He tells of how, the birds do try

To reach him, far up in the sky

How the twilight shines, in all its glory

Oh, how the moon does tell his story

I could stay here, with him, evermore

For his light always reaches, to my very core

And in this place, I find sweet tranquility

Lost to the moon, in a realm of possibility

Goodnight, sweet orb, as I now close this book

Out the window, I stare, yes, for just one more look

Mixing autumn’s shades and hues

With barren branches, ever drear

How quickly til this season ends

Afore winter’s cold doth reappear

Seduced by her beauty, but never knew why
Her vision would taunt him, til the day he’d die
Thousands of time, in the course of an hour
Hester would visit, in visions quite dour
She spoke to his heart, he heard every word
He thought himself mad, then thought it absurd
Harold was never much of lady’s man, not he
He never dated, nor married, nor had a family
It didn’t occur to him, why this would be
The sight of sweet Hester, had caused misery
How no one would ever match her, the magic
When Harold found Hester had gone, how tragic
Left him for another, she disappeared in the night
Leaving the poor man, alone, with his plight
Soon, she returned, to again, start her seduction
He had to deal with his heart, her destruction
He turned her away, this act, quite condemning
And so it began, the haunting of Harold Hemmings

I heard them shout, “It’s Halloween!”

As children scurried, about the scene

Clad in costumes, their faces painted

I’m sure we’ve never been acquainted

But still they come, and ring the bell

Trick or Treat, I hear them yell

Such silly little things, are they

Who walk about and head my way

I’ll greet them with a kindly smile

And watch them grab my candy pile

Then suddenly, they’ll take off running

They think they’re sly and ever cunning

But I got them good, just wait and see

I’ve made this for them, especially

A potion, of which is quite austere

Something to make it perfectly clear

Halloween is a night for ghouls

Witches, goblins, black cats, and fools

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

Why must winter bring death

With its pristine coat of white

Spirits, cloaked in angel dust

Are grounded from their flight
