She’s at it again, and up to no good
Sometimes I wish that she just would
Forget that I’m here, leave me alone
She really needs a place of her own

Sits there, all smug, that look on her face
A glimmer of hope, my one saving grace
A reminder I can do whatever I choose
Except when it comes to my pesky ole muse

Yes, she’s returned, and plopped herself down
In the back garden, atop a grass mound
Silly old girl, she doesn’t quite know
Tomorrow’s forecast, the weather said snow!

Perhaps, that is when she’ll leave me in peace
And her endless nagging will surely cease
But she’s smarter than that, of this I am sure
Puts on the act, makes you think she’s demure

I’m not falling for it, not again, not this time
Though not listening to her, would be a crime
She’s helped me get through, the toughest of spots
When my head really hurts and my stomach’s in knots

I suppose I’ll have to let her stay her for awhile
But to do so, is really a cramp in my style
I’m not disciplined, and that’s why she is here
I’ll be counting the seconds, until she disappears

Colors flashed, hypnotic lights

A billions stars, took off, in flight

Waves of white, across the pitch

Soon, to find their perfect niche

A place among the darkened sky

Between, as satellites floated by

A galaxy, new, is now bestowed

Tis what happens…

…when the moon explodes

No poem today, simply my most favorite quote.  Enjoy!

“Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling.” ~ G. K. Chesterton

He stood as still, as the dark night above him
In the distance, he saw her standing there
An apparition, she, who once loved him
Consumed by fear, all he could do was stare

His heart, racing, sweat pouring from his face
Watching her floating, weightlessly, in air
Wondering why she came back to this place
But his eyes, away from her, he couldn’t tear

Not thinking what could happen, he walks
She backs away, slowly, in silent despair
Begging her to speak, but she couldn’t talk
Knowing this now, he begins to declare

His sins, the reasons, she is no longer alive
He seeks forgiveness, from his once maiden fair
But she turns away, for she can never revive
The man who created his own nightmare

Up at the North Pole, the elves are busy building

Tap, tap, tap, all day long, working for the children

But Santa’s making merry, he’ll need a Corpse Survivor

Else, on Christmas Eve, he’ll need a designated driver

*For those not familiar with a “corpse survivor” you can find the info here
