Rory, A Guy Called Bloke, started a challenge, to add an additional 4 lines to his poem about a Night out.

Not Just My Verse, Your Two Two Too!

He passed it to Sadje of Keep it Alive who then added 4 more lines then passed it on….

Eventually, it was passed to Walt the Tennessee Poet who then tagged me.

The Night Out!

Rory’s bit:
Quite excited l am, seriously,
Not often that my friends and l go out,
For a night on the town so mysteriously,
To have a laugh and a fool about!

Sadje’s bit
Though we have plans to go to town
But it is pouring down by buckets
We may go to see the circus and the clown
Let’s start the evening by first buying the tickets

Di of Pensivity 101’s bit
Oh what a shame, they’re all sold out
Whatever will we do now,
I know, we’ll all go down the pub,
Have a pint and some decent chow…………..

Paula’s bit
But I hear an unearthly sound
Along with fiendish laughter and howls;
I would prefer to turn back around–
It’s two for one monsters’ night out!

Li’s bit
As we turn, our way is blocked
By something large and yellow
He’s Big Bird – but his eyes are red
A zombified, HUNGRY fellow!

Kristian’s Addition:
And behind him appears a shape,
Woolly with some blood-soaked stains
The Snuffleupagus’s mouth agape,
Desperately hungry for some brains.

Beckie’s addition:
Jim Hensen’s eyes are glazed over
as he moves past Snuffleupagus’s slow stride,
every known Muppet is seething and foaming at the mouth
Where oh where can myself and all my friends hide?

Linda Lee Lyberg’s addition:
The only place to go was down the manhole
and there, in the dark who did they meet
None other than the March Hare and Alice
having a steaming hot cup of pomegranate tea
©2019 Linda Lee Lyberg

Walt Page’s addition:
Pornegranate tea is the drink for me
Change the Pom to Porn and you will see
The wonderful effect that it has on me
When you’re my age your reality is fantasy

Dorinda Duclos’ addition:
Lost in Walt’s fantasy, was little Jack Horner
Beside him, there was Jill, feeling rather numb
A bottle of Jack Daniels, empty in the corner
Beside it, the other Jack, with a bottle of rum

I pass the challenge on to Susi Bocks of I Write Her!  Have Fun!!

Creator of days

Awakens sleepy flora

Beneath hardened grounds

By softening soil with rain

Nourishing with Heaven’s touch

Have a blessed Sunday  ❤

Tea Time Talk – #7 #TeaTimeTalk

Well, here we are again, boy time flies when you’re having fun! Grab your tea, iced or hot, and let’s talk! Spring has finally arrived, and along with it, a supermoon!  My kind of an arrival, for sure.   🙂

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I think I am still stuffed from the corned beef dinner on St. Patrick’s Day.  It was very yummy, and I’m still trying to figure out why I only make it once a year.  You would think if it’s that good, we’d have it more often.  Maybe I look at it as a treat.  How about you?  Did you celebrate?  I know some of you already told me you don’t.  I say, start a new tradition!!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: my latest book, “Short & not always Sweet” is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com until March 27th.   Yes, I know, shameful self promotion.  I also want to thank all who have reblogged and tweeted and shared and who offer support.  Wait, that’s all of you!!  I am so blessed.  ❤

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I have an update on Mom.  We saw the orthopedist on Tuesday.  She has a compression fracture of T12, same place she had it last time.  Physical therapy was prescribed, and we return to the doc in four weeks.  Prayers are always welcome, for a speedy recovery.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: how frustrated I am with the WordPress reader.  No matter how many times I refresh it, there is a huge gap between posts.  Our blogger friend, Fandango, has been writing about this for awhile now.  Seems the happiness engineers aren’t too concerned about making us happy at all.  So, if you haven’t seen me on your blog lately, it’s because I can’t see you in the one place I should ALWAYS see you!  It feels a bit like Facebook these days.  But that’s another story.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I can’t believe it’s one week until NaPoWrMo!  Have you signed up?  It’s always a lot of fun, and the site offers daily prompts if you’re stuck for an idea.  You can even use the badge on your posts!  I hope you’ll join me!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Alyssa and I spent a beautiful morning/afternoon with the ladies of Maranatha Church of the Nazarene. The brunch was “Lessons on Lent” and Pastor Jan has a way with words.  You can’t help but feel lighter and uplifted when she speaks. The cake was made by Carlo’s Bakery, aka the Cake Boss.  Isn’t it beautiful?  I cannot wait until the Christmas luncheon.  It’s always a fabulous time.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: it’s so nice to see many of you making the jump from Facebook to MeWe.  There are lovely groups you can join, and while it is still fairly new, they are making improvements every day.  Do come join us!  mewe.com/i/dorindaduclos

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: it’s been a rough couple of days for the hubby.  This is a man who never gets sick, and since January has had acute bronchitis twice.  He can’t sleep, can’t breathe and there’s nothing I can do for him.  Talk about feeling helpless!  He’s under a doctor’s care so I’m hoping this one doesn’t linger like the last.  That one was 4 weeks!  😦

Yes, this is his bitmoji 🙂

As for this week coming up:

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: I’m hoping this week settles down a bit and I can get some serious writing in, but, those of you who know me well, know my family will always come first.

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: Time to get my day in gear.  I swear we’ve been taking in all the neighbors laundry! Have a blessed week ahead, my friends!

What we did, was not meant to be malicious

We spent hours admiring the window tracery

Until the museum curator got very suspicious

When everybody started climbing the drapery

A Ladder to the Universe – #poeticprose – #whatdoyousee?

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

A rather odd-shaped ladder, led me to this wall; I wonder, should I step over, what will happen if I fall? The painted sign tells me “THE BEGINNING IS NEAR”; what I see from this vantage point, is beautiful and clear. But what exactly does that mean, I thought this was the end; if I was to leave this planet, I surely hope I would ascend. Yet, I can only see, ahead of me, a sky so blue; perhaps this is my destiny, though I’m not sure what to do.

I feel a wee bit lost, to this I have avowed; still, I cannot pull myself away, watching celestial clouds. Saturn captures my very heart, tis a place I long to see; will they welcome an earthling, or exile the likes of me? That nebula looks lovely, and that distant star, aglow; a few more steps is all I need, then over the top I’ll go! On second thought, it’s best I wait, until the time is right; for now I’ll leave the universe here, and bid it a grand goodnight.
